The sawmill which we designed and built ourselves is a key element in our holistic approach to managing the wood. Our aim is to restore the woodland to its former glory whilst utilising as much of the timber as possible.We can cut timber up to 18ft long and 24" in diameter. By processing onsite we hope to minimise waste and our carbon footprint. We can also custom mill your logs to your specification. Currently unuseable slab wood and sawdust from the sawmill is used to produce charcoal and biochar. Small sawmills were always a key part of rural communities and in the post peak oil decline we will need them once more.
